USDA Extends Free Meals for Children Through June 30, 2022.

WASHINGTON, April 20, 2021 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the nationwide extension of several waivers that allow all children to continue to receive nutritious meals this summer when schools are out of session. These flexibilities are now available through June 30, 2022.

All children aged 0-18, regardless of where they attend school, are eligible for one free breakfast and one free lunch meal each day. The free breakfast option is only available at our schools that currently have a breakfast program. This includes Hewlett Elementary School, Woodmere Middle School and Hewlett High School.
